Creamy Strawberry Gelato
10 minutes prep + 4 hours freezing | Serves 4
Ingredients:
- 3 tablespoons of Lyons Raw Organic Strawberry Powder
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk (or any plant-based milk)
- 3/4 cup coconut sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
How to Prepare:
1. Blend the Base: In a blender, combine the cream, milk, coconut sugar, strawberry powder and vanilla extract. Blend until the coconut sugar has dissolved and the mixture is smooth and creamy.
2. Chill the Mixture: Pour the mixture into a large bowl or container, cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to ensure it is well chilled.
3. Churn the Gelato: Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Transfer the churned gelato to a freezer-safe container, smooth the top and freeze for an additional 2-4 hours to set. No Ice Cream Maker? Pour the mixture into a freezer-safe container and stir every 30 minutes to break up the ice crystals, repeating for about 4 hours until smooth and creamy.
4. Serve: Scoop into bowls or cones and enjoy! For extra flair, sprinkle a little strawberry powder on top.
